The blind Bulgarian mystic Baba Vanga has always been pretty weird. Before she died in 1996, aged 85, she left predictions going all the way to the 51st century when she said the universe will end.
But until then, we have 2018 to look forward to, and as people believe she correctly foresaw 9/11, the rise of ISIS and the Boxing Day tsunami, her warnings are probably worth listening to.
According to the ‘Nostadamus from the Balkans’, we can look forward to two world-changing events in 2018.
Those are China taking over the US as the world’s next ‘super power’ and the discovery of a ‘new form of energy’ on the planet Venus. Thrilling stuff.
Depending on how you look at them, both of these predictions could actually come true if they haven’t already.
In July 2018 NASA is set to launch the Parker Solar Probe, named after the solar astrophysicist Eugene Parker.
The robotic spacecraft’s mission is to probe the outer corona of the Sun by using Venus’ gravitational force, examining solar wind and the energy that heats the plasma surrounding our system’s big ol’ fireball.
That sounds remarkably familiar to the ‘new form of energy’ that Vanga said human beings will discover.
Vanga’s second prediction for 2018 – that China would overtake the US as a superpower – is also entirely plausible.
Two years ago the research group The Conference Board estimated that China’s contribution to global GDP would surpass that of the US by 2018.
China’s economy has grown significantly in recent years, with the Asian country responsible for 15.6% of the entire world’s economy in 2015, according to Forbes.
In 2015 the US contributed 16.7% but this is expected to fall to 14.9% in 2025. Will Baba Vanga’s prediction turn out to be true?
Vanga’s predictions have certainly been praised as being right in the past, as in 1989 she seemed to prophecise 9/11 by claiming ‘two steel birds’ would attack the ‘American brethren’.
“Horror, horror!” she reportedly warned. “The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing.”
Other events Vanga has warned us to look forward to in the future include the end of world hunger by 2028, ice caps melting by 2045, Mars colonies gaining nukes by 2256 and Earth becoming unhabitable from 2341.
Next year looks relatively bright then. Might as well enjoy it while we can.
